The
Board of Miracles
The
Birth of The Board of Miracles
By Rev. Light
March 3, 2003
Miracles don’t
happen. They just are. They are everywhere all the time. They are in the
eye of the beholder. They are waiting to be seen and noticed. (Aren’t
we all!) And that is good. And that is God. For we are all God’s
miracles waiting to be noticed.
A couple of years
ago my life was filled with miracles. They followed me wherever I went.
I had written dozens of pages of miracle sightings. Then they began
happening so often that I no longer had time to record them. Then I got
so busy with all my human stuff that I no longer had time to notice
them.
Then miracles began
fading from my life. Until I no longer could see them. And for me then,
miracles ceased to exist. My ink dried up and the pages in my miracle
notebook turned empty. And so did my heart and soul. Until much later,
specifically, until today, when I began noticing miracles again.
I was riding the
subway in Philadelphia. We were approaching City Hall. I was about to
get up and walk to the door across from me. I started to rise from my
seat, but something made me sit back down. Something inside me made me
glance at the lower half of the metal subway door.
Lo and behold...on
it, like in a mirror, I noticed the faint profile of a classic Madonna
head wrapped in a scarf. I looked away in disbelief. Then I looked
back. This time all my doubts disappeared. She was there right in
front of me. I clearly saw her mirror image from the waist up.
I could have reached out and touched her. Shrouded in her
classic robe, she gently cradled the Babe in her folded arms. Just
like in those Italian paintings.
I sat there
motionless for a moment, gazing at the holy sight. I suddenly
understood why the Masters depicted her the way they did. They must
have seen this same universal, Cosmic Mother Archetype that I just
saw!
The subway door
flew open. We walked
through the Madonna’s being. Some
of us more aware of her presence than others.
I got off at City
Hall and began walking toward the 30th Street train
station. For some reason, I began thinking about the Light Switch
Board of this web site. I
imagined everyone in the world to be a blinking light on my Light
Switch Board. I was
overcome by a profound sense of connectedness to all of humanity.
I arrived at the
train station and walked up to the ticket line. My eyes fell on a sign
in the ticket window. “Please wait for a blinking light”, it said.
I smiled and thought, “Yes,
that is exactly what I am waiting for!”
And so, through the
Madonna’s Womb this Board of Miracles was born.
What
is The Board of Miracles
The Board of
Miracles consists of people who notice, share, advocate and multiply
miracles. Our Board here is built to notice those who notice miracles.
What we notice, we multiply. What we notice, we become. We spontaneously
become miracle workers by simply noticing miracles.
So The Board of
Miracles is made up of miracle workers. Wherever they go, they notice,
hence multiply and share miracles.
The Board of
Miracles is also a space where we notice miracles. We can fill up this
space with miraculous stories, such as mine. Remembering always, that
miracles belong to those who see them.
The
Mission of The Board of Miracles
The primary mission
of The Board of Miracles is to notice and multiply miracles of life,
soul and healing. And to notice and multiply those who notice and
multiply miracles.
How
can you become a Miracle Board Member?
First, always be on
the look out for miracles. Second, send in your name and contact
information with a minimum of $10 donation and with the account of a
miracle that you noticed. We will then post your name and means of
contact on the Miracle Board Members
list. This will give you a chance to network with miracle minded people,
such as yourself. Please apply here for
Miracle Board Membership Application.
We will also select
the best miracle stories and randomly put them up on the Miracle Board
under Stories of Miracles and/or publish them
in a book format in some future time. The Miracle Board should always
have plenty of miracles to share. On
your application please give us permission to publish your story of a
miracle, here and now, or in some future time.
We
are waiting for your miracle story.
